Expat Communities in Hokkaido

There are various members' clubs and groups in Japan where foreigners can connect and engage with one another. Many actively participate in these communities to make new friends, exchange valuable information about life in Japan, and enjoy opportunities to attend parties or volunteer activities. Hokkaido Multinational Support Community (HMSC)

Hokkaido Multinational Support Community (HMSC) supports the community of multinational residents in Hokkaido in a number of ways, including:

• By providing bilingual presentations and workshops on a range of topics, particularly of importance to seniors.
• By organizing a variety of social events and club activities for members to share interests, both in-person and via Zoom.
• By promoting intercultural exchange and understanding.

Sapporo International Communication Plaza Foundation International Community Bureau

Sapporo International Communication Plaza Foundation manages wide variety of activities for promotion of international exchange and understanding among the city residents as well as for improvement in living standards among foreign residents in the city. The activities include providing various living information services, holding seminars and events, and managing the registration system to invite host families for foreign students and volunteer interpreters and teachers of foreign languages.
