Fukui Living Guide
Fukui prefecture is located in the Hokuriku region of Japan. The prefectural capital is Fukui-shi. The mountains of Echizen and the clear waters of Wakasa represent the natural magnificence of Fukui.
It is bordered by Ishikawa Prefecture, Shiga Prefecture, Kyoto Prefecture, and Gifu Prefecture. It also faces the Japan Sea.
Fukui produces more than 90% of the nation's eyeglasses and most of Japan's dinosaur fossils have been excavated in Katsuyama-shi. It is also famous for Echizen crabs. The entire prefecture of Fukui is designated as a heavy snowfall zone.
