Fukushima Prefecture is located in the northeastern part of Honshu, facing the Pacific Ocean. The prefectural capital is Fukushima-shi. Fukushima is the southern gateway to the Tohoku region. If you take the Tohoku Shinkansen, it takes only 90 minutes from Tokyo.
The sea faces the Pacific Ocean and the neighboring prefectures are Miyagi, Yamagata, Tochigi, Gunma, Ibaraki, and Niigata. Most of the area is mountainous and there are many hot springs. Agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and livestock farming are thriving industries.
